- First Endo Hands-on Seminar Held on July 12

    SPIDENT successfully held its first endodontic hands-on seminar as part of its initiative to strengthen clinical education in the field of endodontics.

On July 12, SPIDENT conducted a one-day intensive hands-on seminar under the theme “Mastering the Fundamentals of Root Canal Treatment to Reduce Failures.” The program was designed to enhance real-world clinical applicability by organizing the entire root canal treatment process into a single clinical workflow, combining step-by-step theoretical understanding with practical training.

    The seminar featured lectures by Professor Geon-Hwa Seong (Department of Conservative Dentistry, Wonkwang University) and Dr. Young-Bo Shim (Shim Young-Bo Conservative Dentistry Clinic). Drawing from both academic principles and practical clinical experience, the speakers covered topics ranging from fundamental concepts to the application of endodontic procedures in daily practice.

    The curriculum addressed key stages of root canal treatment in a structured manner, including access cavity preparation, canal exploration, canal shaping, obturation, and post-treatment coronal sealing through core build-up. Common clinical challenges and corresponding solutions were also discussed, helping participants understand the entire treatment process within a consistent and integrated framework.

    During the hands-on session, participants performed essential procedures—from access preparation to obturation and core build-up—allowing them to directly apply what they had learned. The session also included obturation training using SPIDENT’s root canal sealer, Vioseal X, providing participants with practical insight into its handling and clinical performance. A Q&A session based on various clinical cases further reinforced the learning experience.
