Beyond Theory and Into Practice, from Access to Core Build-up

SPIDENT Endodontic Hands-on Seminar Review

SPIDENT recently hosted an Endodontic Hands-on Seminar designed to help participants experience the entire endodontic workflow,

from fundamental principles to practical clinical application.

Rather than ending with lectures alone, the seminar focused on helping participants understand and

practice the complete treatment process as one connected clinical workflow

 — from Access Preparation and Canal Shaping to Obturation and Core Build-up.

Prof. Kun-Hwa Sung and Dr. Yeong-bo Shim led the lecture sessions, covering key clinical principles,

decision-making points, and important details that can easily be overlooked during endodontic treatment.

In addition to fundamental root canal anatomy and treatment principles,

the speakers shared their own clinical experience and practical know-how,

offering detailed insights into common challenges and real-world clinical situations.

Following the lectures, participants moved on to the hands-on session, where they were able to

practice canal shaping and obturation techniques and continue through to Core Build-up as part of the complete treatment workflow.

One of the most valuable aspects of the seminar was the close interaction between the speakers and the participants.

Throughout the hands-on session, the speakers moved around the training area,

closely observing each participant’s technique and providing detailed explanations and personalized feedback.

Participants were also encouraged to freely ask questions about situations they commonly encounter in daily practice.

In response, the speakers shared practical solutions and clinical tips based on their own experience.

This made the seminar more than a simple follow-along exercise.

Participants were able to practice, ask questions, receive immediate feedback,

and deepen their understanding through direct interaction.

Another key feature of the seminar was that the training did not stop at root canal obturation.

The program continued through Core Build-up, allowing participants to

understand the full treatment process as one continuous clinical workflow:

Access → Shaping → Obturation → Core Build-up

By approaching each stage as part of one connected treatment process rather than as an isolated procedure,

participants were able to build a deeper understanding and greater confidence for clinical application.

The seminar provided an opportunity to revisit the fundamentals of endodontic treatment,

strengthen practical skills through hands-on experience,

and gain deeper clinical insight through direct guidance from experienced clinicians.

Learn deeper. Practice stronger. Advance your Endodontics.
